Sheet Piling (UK) Limited is a leading specialist Steel Piling Contractor and we are seeking to recruit key people to assist in the future growth of the company.

We are looking to increase our workforce following the successful award of several high-profile schemes. We have a significant, secure workload forecast to run until 2024/25 along with other works currently secured for the next 12 months.

Sheet Piling (UK) Ltd own a modern fleet of piling equipment ranging from pile presses, cranes, MOVAX and telescopic leader rigs. In addition, we own the only two long reach leader rigs in the UK, designed, developed and commissioned by Sheet Piling (UK) Ltd and ABI Equipment. These machines allow us to install sheet piles at a much greater radius than is possible with a standard rig, leading the way with innovation within the sheet piling industry.

We are continually investing in new plant ensuring we comply with the latest health, safety and emissions standards, allowing us to secure a significant workload load for the foreseeable future.


Plant/Fleet Manager

As Sheet Piling UK’s plant/fleet manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the plant department, managing both workshop and mobile plant fitters ensuring the plant is maintained to the highest standards.

Key elements of the role

  • Overseeing the plant department and operational activities of the plant.
  • Managing the performance of the workshop & mobile fitters.
  • Ensure all employees are working in line with the latest health and safety regulations and internal procedures.
  • Controlling expenditure and costs within set budgets.
  • Production of performance reports for senior management.
  • Develop and improve existing procedures, ensuring a comprehensive maintenance programme is advanced.
  • Ensuring close relationships are built with key partners and suppliers, allowing us to react in a timely and efficient manner to any plant issues.
  • Ensure all plant is maintained and operational in line with current H&S legislation and internal plant specifications.
  • Previous knowledge of heavy plant (Piling Rigs / Cranes) is required.

The Position would suit an individual currently undertaking the role or those looking to make the next career step from a Foreman Fitter.

This is a salaried based position with reimbursement to be agreed to suit experience along with the usual benefits (Holiday Entitlement / Bonus Scheme / Pension Scheme / Car Allowance)


Plant Fitters – Mobile

As part of the fitting team, you will be responsible for the preventative and reactive maintenance of the piling equipment, ensuring the equipment is safe and reliable ensuring maximum efficiency.

As a mobile plant fitter, the role will be UK based and as such we will consider applicants who live anywhere with the UK, occasionally you will be based from our workshop facility in Preston.

Key elements of the role

  • Repair and troubleshoot.
  • Carry our general and preventative maintenance.
  • Upkeep and servicing of the piling plant.
  • Maintain, service and repair equipment in line with manufacturers guidelines and procedure.
  • Knowledge of heavy plant & piling equipment is required.

We are looking for someone with a positive can-do attitude who can work under pressure, safely and efficiently.

This is either a salaried or hourly paid position dependant on individuals preference.


Plant Fitter – Apprentice/Newly Qualified

If you have aspirations to become a plant fitter or looking for a change of discipline, we would be interested in speaking with you, we have opportunities available both in the workshop and mobile environment for a enthusiastic, willing individual who would like to build a successful career working with heavy plant and piling equipment.

The position would involve registering for an NVQ in Plant Maintenance along with a structured career path to progress within the company.

Applicants must be able and willing to complete daily reports, via an online system i.e., electronic record keeping. Applicants must be able to drive and work throughout the UK.

The company is offering enhanced hourly rates of pay and a joining fee of £500 for all new PAYE employees (subject to conditions), usual employment conditions apply, including: pension; holidays; van; fuel card; guaranteed hours.
