Health & Safety

Sheet Piling (UK) Ltd prioritises health and safety at all times, whether it relates to our employees, our trade contractors or visitors to our various sites. Health and safety compliance is managed by our own in-house NEBOSH-qualified HSEQ Advisor, who works with the senior management team and updates procedures, in accordance with changing legislation, on an on-going basis.

Our proactive approach as a sheet pile specialist ensures that safety audits and other activities, such as site-specific risk assessments and method statements, and lifting plans, are all regularly undertaken on-site.

As one of the leading names in sheet piling, Sheet Piling (UK) Ltd is also a member of SMAS, CHAS, Constructionline and Achilles. We are fully committed to ensuring all site operatives and management are CSCS/CPCS accredited and that managers and supervisors are SMSTS/SSSTS trained. We take our lead from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and strive for a position in which our activities exceed the requirements of the regulations set out by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015.

Environmental

Sheet Piling (UK) Ltd is positively working to reduce its carbon footprint, whether impacts are generated in the office environment or through our manufacturing processes. Wherever possible, we exercise control over emissions, adopt recycling measures, use renewable resources and conserve energy. We recognise sustainability is a measure on which we are judged by our employees, clients, business partners and the wider world and is, therefore, critical for our sheet piling business and its long-term success.

We regularly engage with our clients and supply chain, to promote the use of recyclable and reusable materials within our sheet piling activities. We develop environmental action plans within the risk assessments and method statements produced for each of our projects, to ensure every option to reduce and/or eliminate activities that have a negative impact on the environment is considered. Our plant and equipment are subject to a strict servicing and maintenance schedule, to ensure they comply with LOLER, PUWER and current emission requirements. Quality Control

We deploy our management’s skills, and use our company resources, in the most efficient manner possible, so as to produce projects of the highest standard and quality. We ensure quality control standards are maintained at the highest level, by using the best construction practices within our core activity of sheet pile installation. Quality standards are dictated at the start of a project and are priorities throughout the whole sheet piling project. Mindful that there are always better ways of doing things, we constantly seek strategies and methodologies that can enhance both our project delivery and our service to our end-client.

Operating on the basis of quality assurance systems is a fundamental component of our business philosophy and these systems span all phases of the project life cycle, from the preliminary feasibility study and design development of a sheet piling project, through to the final on-site works. Our systems are continually audited as part of maintaining our EN ISO 9001: 2015 accredited quality management system. Sheet Piling (UK) Ltd’s internal quality manual defines our objectives and the key procedures which should be applied to each project, to ensure that both our client’s and our design team’s expectations and specifications are achieved. We also strive to integrate our methodologies within client-specific project quality systems, including those of Highways England, Network Rail, Thames Water, and of other authorities and entities.
