Excavator Piling Investment Kicks Off 2023
Sheet Piling (UK) Ltd have kicked off 2023 with the addition of a Kobelco SK350 Excavator Piling Rig and Movax SG-75 Side Grip Piling Vibratory Hammer.
The state-of-the-art Kobelco SK350 excavator is supplied with a Hino 213kW stage V emission standard engine and an operating weight of 38Te. The excavator has a maximum reach of 11.2m along with numerous easy maintenance features and enhanced durability making them ideal for excavator piling works.
The Movax SG-75 side grip hammer is a robust high frequency vibratory hammer with variable eccentric moment suitable for driving sheet piles, H beams and tubular piles.
The side grip hammer has excellent pile handling characteristics and is controlled using the Movax Control System (MCS) making it ideal for installing and extracting driven steel piles.
Key benefits of the Movax SG-75 excavator mounted pile driver are:
- Maximum Eccentric Moment = 7.6kgm
- Frequency = 2300-3000 cycles/minute
- Maximum Recommended Pile Length = 10m (depending on ground conditions)
- Efficient system for handline and driving sheet piles
The new Kobelco SK350 excavator was supplied by Molson Group with the Movax SG-75 being commissioned by Watson & Hillhouse.
The excavator piling rig was immediately put to work installing Emirates Steel Arkan Sheet Piles in a project in Swansea.
Commenting on the new addition of plant to the company’s fleet of modern piling equipment, Managing Director Andrew Cotton noted:
