Temporary Piling Work Commences on Mersey Gateway Project

Sheet Piling (UK) Ltd has recently commenced piling works on the prestigious Mersey Gateway Project.

The project is a major scheme to build a new six lane toll bridge over the River Mersey between the towns of Runcorn and Widnes, and is due to open in 2017.

Sheet Piling (UK) Ltd are working directly for the Merseylink construction joint venture consisting of FCC Construction, Samsung C&T Corporation and Kier Infrastructure.

The works initially involve the installation of temporary cofferdams to the Northern Approach Viaduct together with a temporary anchored wall to Ditton Junction.

Commenting on the award, Chairman John Hull noted: “We are delighted to be involved in such a significant project and look forward to continued involvement to assist in delivering the works”.
