Our animated video explains how the massive success of our existing TM 12/15 LR telescopic leader rig, and its own clear advantages over any other in the market, have paved the way for the TM 20 LR’s arrival in our fleet. The video focuses on what we regard as the four core sectors in which our unique TM 20 LR will eclipse all other rigs. The reason is that all others have no option but to use traditional and outdated methodologies that our rigs have shunned, in favour of ways of working that deliver significant programme and cost benefits.
The sectors that we identify in the video as key beneficiaries of the TM 20’s capabilities are those of rail infrastructure, ports and harbours, road infrastructure and commercial and residential construction. Within each, the commitment that our TM 20 LR rig can offer, is that of removing the time-consuming and costly enabling works that are solely required in order to give traditional rigs a temporary structure on which to stand, so as to reach the position in which steel sheet pile-driving needs to take place.
Differences Between our Long Reach Sheet Piling Rigs
The TM 20 LR builds on the TM 12/15 LR’s unique facets, because we know how well they have worked. We have extended that rig’s benefits still further but also included various enhancements. So, our revolutionary new telescopic leader rigs boasts the same 8.1m horizontal reach, from the centre of the machine to the pile line as its older sister, but has a maximum driven or extracted pile length of 20 metres, rather than 16 metres. The maximum below-platform driving depth is 3.4m and the rig comes with a powerful ABI MRZV-30VV, variable moment, variable frequency vibratory hammer, with hydraulic rapid-charging docking station.
A unique infrastructure mode of a heavy-duty, hydraulically extendable undercarriage, allows our sector-leading rig to have a reduced footprint in areas of restricted access and tight working conditions. Its ground-bearing pressure is reduced by its 90mm-wide trackpads and it has additional vertically stacked counterweights, so as to provide enhanced stability.
It comes with the very latest, fully environmental-compliant engine, a Euro Stage V, and a state-of-the-art Sennebogen F-series base carrier; with bespoke boom hinge, for long reach capability. It can operate in normal or long reach mode, but when in the latter, it has a maximum load capacity of ten tons and a maximum crowd and extraction force of 180 kN.
Our MD’s View of this Revolutionary Sheet Piling Rig
Our MD, Andrew Cotton, refers to this unique sheet piling rig as “extraordinary” and believes it will further the revolution that the TM 12/15 LR has started within its various sectors. He anticipates the new rig becoming the most talked-about piece of equipment in the sector, just as the first long reach sheet piling rig proved to be. He also predicts that there is a massive opportunity for this giant of a sheet piling rig, given that there will be pressures on public spending in some areas, as the Treasury seeks to counterbalance its expenditure on coronavirus measures.
Andrew also feels that any project manager or Tier-1 contractor should be turning to this rig, whether they are charged with quickly rolling out infrastructure and construction projects, or just conducting business as usual.
