SHEET PILING ESTIMATOR

Sheet Piling Estimator to work on a full-time basis within our small, professional and friendly preconstruction team based in Preston Lancashire.

The main purposed of the job is to provide technical advice and design information in all elements of retaining structures for estimating and construction purposes within the company.

Position Overview

  • Ensuring that all tender deliverables are produced in a timely manner.
  • Review tender enquiry documents (drawings, specifications, site investigations and client requirements) and submission requirements.
  • Producing take-off and priced bill of quantities.
  • Ensure innovative solutions and produced including liaison with design team.
  • Ensure correct methods, outputs and plant/resources are selected to deliver the tender.

Position requirement will consist of:

  • Must have previous experience working in ground engineering sector.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years post-graduate experience.
  • Professional Engineering qualification, preferably MEng, BEng, HNC and working towards ‘Professional Membership’.
  • Excellent communication skills and work ethic.
  • Have an ambition to develop their career and progress within the Company.
  • Willing to travel occasionally throughout the UK for client meetings and presentations.
  • Salary and remuneration package negotiable depending on candidate.

HSEQ ADVISOR – THIS ROLE HAS NOW BEEN FILLED

HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality) Advisor on a full-time basis to complement their established construction management team.

The candidate would act as advisor to our construction managers responsible for the delivery of our construction sites across the UK and Ireland.

Some experience within the construction industry and knowledge of the current health, safety, environmental and CDM legislation would be required to fulfil this role in order to ensure implementation and industry best practice is maintained throughout all levels of the Business.

Responsibilities would include (but not limited to):

  • Communication of current HSE & Q legislation to all levels of the business
  • Developing and Application of Tool Box Talks
  • Monitoring and upkeep of required minimum standard, or better, training courses and skills for all in house site personnel and management
  • Self-development through training and attendance at the required courses to gain professional development
  • Conduct and communicate site, yard and office audits
  • Monitoring and reviewing on site safety practices
  • Liaising with site operatives, managers and head of safety
  • Encourage a Zero harm and no blame culture
  • Produce/review and approve method statements, risk/COSHH assessments in conjunction with Contracts Managers responsible for individual projects
  • Complete PQQ for submission to clients and review subcontract PQQ’s when provided from Subcontractors and/or suppliers
  • Attendance at prestart meetings with clients
  • Updating and communicating company health, safety, environmental and quality policies
  • Review, renew and maintain company accreditations and certifications
  • Accident, investigation and near miss reporting
  • Managing and upkeep of company IMS (integrated Management System)
